The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Jimoh, has expressed profound grief and heartfelt condolences to the Lagos State Police Command on the painful demise of Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Salihu Khan.
According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Afolayan Gbenga, issued on Monday, the deceased served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration, Lagos State Police Command.
“His death has left a deep void within the Nigeria Police Force and among colleagues who had the privilege of serving with him,” the statement read.
Describing the deceased, AIG Jimoh said “he is an exceptionally dutiful, disciplined, and highly professional police officer whose commitment to service, integrity, and dedication to duty earned him the admiration and respect of both superiors and subordinates.
“He embodied the finest ideals of policing and remained steadfast in the discharge of his responsibilities throughout his distinguished career.”
According to the statement, the AIG noted that the news of the officer’s demise came as a ‘rude shock’, adding that “the Nigeria Police Force has lost a dependable administrator, a loyal colleague, and a committed public servant whose contributions to the growth and development of the Force will always be remembered.
“AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh joins the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, family members, friends, and colleagues in mourning this irreparable loss,” the statement read.
AIG Jimoh also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and the entire police family and asked God to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings.
