Black Panther 3 could play a key role in expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a new report claiming the highly anticipated sequel may introduce a major mutant character.
According to entertainment insider James Mack, the next âBlack Pantherâ film is expected to feature a new mutant, potentially paving the way for Marvel Studiosâ long-awaited integration of the X-Men into the MCU. The report, however, has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios.
If the rumour proves true, âBlack Panther 3â would become another major step in Marvelâs plans to develop its mutant storyline, following years of fan anticipation.
The film is expected to be released after âAvengers: Secret Warsâ and is likely to help usher in the MCUâs next chapter. Marvel has already announced an âX-Menâ reboot, directed by Jake Schreier, which is currently slated for release in 2028.
Ryan Coogler is expected to return to direct the third âBlack Pantherâ instalment, while Letitia Wright will reprise her role as Shuri, who took up the mantle of Black Panther following the events of âBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverâ.
Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington is also expected to join the cast, although Marvel has yet to reveal details about his character.
