Tiv Youths Seek Support For New MUT Leadership

The Tiv Youth Organisation (TYO), Abuja Chapter, has called on Tiv stakeholders to rally support for the newly elected leadership of Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide (MUT) to strengthen unity and address challenges facing the Tiv nation.

In a statement issued yesterday, TYO president, Chief Joseph Saater Undu, and general secretary, Comrade Victor Akaa, while congratulating the new MUT leadership, said collective support for the executive council was necessary to advance the interests of Tiv people at home and in the diaspora.

The group expressed confidence in the ability of the new leadership, headed by retired Commander Titus Agbecha as president general, to build on the achievements of previous administrations and further strengthen the socio-cultural organisation.

TYO noted that the emergence of the new executive followed the successful annual congress of MUT, which also produced Hon. Nicholas Ortukwa and other members of the executive council.

The organisation said the new leadership assumed office at a time when the Tiv nation was confronted with diverse challenges requiring unity, commitment and purposeful leadership.

It also commended the immediate past president general, Chief CP Iorbee Ihagh (Rtd), for what it described as his contributions to the growth and development of MUT Worldwide.

According to the group, Ihagh’s tenure was marked by efforts to promote Tiv culture, strengthen the institution’s structures and foster unity among Tiv people across Nigeria and the diaspora.

TYO urged Tiv stakeholders to work closely with the new executive to ensure continuity and progress in the affairs of the organisation.
